Award winning publishing company moves to the North East BIC

An award winning publishing company committed to helping those in the armed forces has moved onto the BIC’s 14 acre site.

Education for the Military magazine is a unique one stop shop offering information and guidance on the funding available from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for all aspects of education from nursery through to adult education.

A family orientated publication with Joanne Nattress as editor and her son Jamie Waite as director it has recently received praise from the MOD and was awarded with the national award of recognition for its services to armed forces veterans.

The publication which is created right here in Sunderland is distributed all over the UK as well as in Germany and has been running since 2013. Joanne said:

“This is a busy year for us we are expanding in numbers in May and we will be expanding our office size then too, of course remaining at the BIC. I knew the BIC was right, being a family business we feel the wonderful community spirit at the BIC compliments us, it just made perfect sense.

“I did look at other business parks but the help and advice that is on offer at the BIC is brilliant and there is nothing out there to compare. I know that we can grow here.”

Space adviser, Doreen Howard added:

“Joanne has summed up the BIC’s ethos perfectly, our aim is building business success in the region and it is truly inspiring witnessing businesses growing and expanding from their base at the BIC and also remaining at the BIC to do so.
