June 2010 - LAW FIRM USES MARKETING MAGIC TO WIN NEW CLIENTS

One of Sunderland’s oldest law firms has teamed up with a city-based marketing specialist to highlight its offering for businesses.

Richard Reed Solicitors, based in Frederick Street, Sunderland has provided services for corporate clients since 1948, but after meeting Paul Finch, Manager of Pulse Creative Marketing, the Partners realised that they were not visible enough in the market place to attract new clients to these particular services.

Phil Moir, solicitor at Richard Reed, said: “We met Paul at a Sunderland Business Network event, and he quickly helped us to identify the fact that, although we have a huge existing client base for our business services, we didn’t really have any marketing materials to attract new customers.

“As we were already in the process of reviewing these services, it was great to bring Paul and the Pulse team into the project to fine-tune our ideas and collaborate on new marketing ideas.”

Together with Pulse Creative Marketing, which is based at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC), the Richard Reed team embarked on a full marketing project, and as a result created a 14-page brochure detailing the firm’s extensive range of business advisory services, which they are now putting to good use in generating new business.

Phil said: “The brochure that we have ended up with, as a result of working with Pulse, is the perfect vehicle to highlight our services for small businesses, and it has already allowed us to have a more effective presence at networking events.”

Paul Finch, manager at Pulse Creative Marketing, added: “Richard Reed are a fine example of a long established Sunderland business which has been able to evolve and adjust their marketing activity to suit the changing habits of its customers.”
