A Sunderland based education recruitment organisation has expanded, doubling its office space at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC).
AK Teaching was established by entrepreneur Anthony Kirtley in 2012 after spending 10 years in the recruitment industry. The company which specialises in recruiting teachers, nursery nurses, teaching assistants and support staff across the North East, recruited its first consultant last year to help support the growth of the business and then in February this year employed a further three new members of staff.
Managing director Anthony explains:
“Our aim is to offer a friendly, honest and reliable service to both schools and education professionals and to keep up with demand, I have employed three new consultants who between them bring a wealth of experience in the recruitment field.
“With the extra support now in place, I have time to focus on scaling up the business. The plan is to work more closely with SEN schools, not only supplying suitable candidates for interview, but I’m also currently in discussion with some of the schools about new training opportunities, with the aim being to employ an SEN consultant this summer. Anthony continues:
“The BIC was recommended to me when I first started the business and I moved into a small incubator office. We have now doubled our office space and the staff have been extremely supportive during the process.”
