Digital marketing agency expands with addition of Senior Designer

Dodio

Sunderland based agency dodio – The Do Studio has expanded its team of experts as the city’s strong digital technology industry continues to grow.

Jameson Lai has joined the team as a Senior Designer, bringing with him over a decade of experience, and having played an integral role in the agency’s recent rebrand.

A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Jameson was head designer at creative marketing agency, Pulse, for seven years, where he gained a wealth of experience working with regional SMEs and public sector clients. After leaving to set up his own business, Jameson went on to work with a range of clients on a freelance basis.

The digital marketing agency, based at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC), opened its doors six years ago as ‘Kean Media Limited’ with Christopher Kean at the helm. Initially the company offered Web Design services to local start-up clients and grew as the demand for digital marketing expertise increased.

In 2015, Chris joined forces with partner Senga Maria Crosby to expand the business, creating marketing agency, dodio – The Do Studio. Senga brought with her over 12 years-experience within senior marketing roles and was a driving force in the expansion of the business.

Their success and continued growth has facilitated the expansion of the team and a recent office move to bigger premises at the BIC.

Jameson’s appointment couldn’t have come at a better time for dodio, with the talented designer bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to interpret Chris and Senga’s vision for their rebrand and set them on course for the next stage of the business journey.

Speaking of his appointment, Jameson said:

“I am thrilled to be a part of the team, particularly at such an exciting period of growth for the business and the sector. The region has such a diverse and thriving business community and I’m excited to put my creative expertise into practise to help organisations engage with their audiences through effective design.”

dodio already boasts an impressive client list including Sunderland City Council. The team also recognises that there is a cultural renaissance happening in the City, despite Sunderland losing out to Coventry in the bid for City of Culture 2021 and is showing its support to companies across the North East to keep up the momentum.

Managing Director, Chris Kean said ‘We all have to work together to help improve and sustain Sunderland’s economy. I am thrilled to welcome Jameson to the dodio team, and many exciting opportunities lie ahead with the possibility of taking on even more staff in the very near future.’

Senga Maria Crosby, Marketing Director said ‘The future of marketing is fully understanding the customer journey, knowing where consumers are every step of the way, knowing what they want and ensuring marketing activity achieves and exceeds expectations at every touch point. dodio is in a great place to support businesses in achieving their goals and grow. Offering everything under one roof enables us to provide a holistic approach to marketing and Jameson’s appointment puts us in a strong position to respond to the needs of our clients.”
