A huge support to others in their community, the BIC are also committed to their own employees which is demonstrated by them becoming the latest business in Sunderland to sign up to the Better Health at Work Awards (BHAWA).

The BHAWA recognises the efforts of local employers in addressing health issues within the workplace. The award scheme is free, flexible and open to all employers in the North East, regardless of size, location or type of business.

There are over 500 organisations across the North East participating in the award with over 30 within Sunderland including Barclays, EDF Energy and Gentoo.

Jacqui Danks, who leads on the Better Health at Work Award within the BIC, said: “Our employees are our greatest asset and make the BIC what it is.

Investing in our employees’ health and wellbeing is investing in our company — enabling them to reach their full potential.”

Contact the Sunderland Better Health at Work team to find out how your business can sign up to the Awards. The service is completely free of charge, so what are you waiting for?
