Global North finds Open Space

Open Space, the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC)’s new facility was launched this month and welcomed the first virtual tenant on board with more to follow.
Rob Macleod
Robert Macleod, managing director, of Global North, a certification body which audits businesses against international ISO standards, such as ISO9001, has taken virtual residency with the BIC after viewing the new Open Space facility.
The new 2,400 sq ft facility, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme 2007-13, offers a secure IT network, a range of telecoms options which will allow members to connect to landlines or laptops and access to business information and experts who will be delivering a wide range of seminars from the facility.  Robert said:
“I have been based at the BIC within another company for over 16 years so there was no hesitation in my mind that it would also be home to Global North.
“The Open Space will allow me the flexibility to meet clients in a professional area but will also mean I can work from home when required too.
“The BIC is a great place to locate your business; with helpful business support, superb IT facilities, the meeting spaces and the well situated location makes for a convenient and professional place to do business.”
Donna Surtees, senior space adviser, added: “It is with great pleasure we welcome Robert Macleod and Global North to the Open Space. We have a variety of packages available; weekly or monthly so if you are looking for a secure, dynamic workspace away from your usual environment then consider the Open Space.”
