    I am an experienced Commercial/Business Development Director working across a range of technolgy and industry sectors. I provide consultancy, mentoring and interim management support to start-ups and SMEs wishing to introduce new products, enter new markets or increase sales. I work closely with entrepreneurs and SME owner/managers to deliver practical support to identify markets and customers, implement marketing strategies, prepare business plans, source investment, find partners for licensing distribution or reselling, and overall business mentoring. My key skills and experience include:

    • Market Research: Researching market opportunities, assessing customer needs and buying behaviours.
    • Business Development and Marketing Strategy:  Segmenting and targeting markets and customers, developing the income model and implementing business development activities.
    • New Product and Service Introduction:  I have project managed and supported the successfull introduction of over 20 new products, services and technologies.
    • Licensing and Distribution: 28 years experience of negotiating licensing, commercialisation and distribution agreements.
    • Business Planning and Fundraising: Preparation of business plans to raise investment through venture capital, loan and grant funds.  My experience includes membership of a Venture Capital panel that assessed businesses for investment.

    In my most recent role as Commercial Director of an early stage technology business I implemented an international marketing and business development plan for a new product which achieved sales to 20 countries within 24 months of the product launch.
