A rapidly expanding marketing communications agency is plotting the next stage of its growth story after winning a clutch of new contracts.

In the last six months Sunderland-based Narrative Integrated Communications has won more than £250,000 of work across its core service areas, which include PR, creative work, advertising, digital media and marketing strategy.

Recent wins include a contract to deliver an e-mail marketing campaign for Newcastle University Medical School and a separate project to design product packaging, a website and marketing literature for leather repair specialist Handbag Clinic. Narrative’s creative and media buying teams are also working with Mattel, a global toy and game retailer which employs around 31,000 people and sells its products in more than 150 countries.

Redcar & Cleveland College has called upon Narrative to create and implement a social media campaign; recruitment firm TechConsult and business skills specialist KF Training have been added to the PR client portfolio; and a media buying campaign for Reds Hair and Beauty Salon is now underway.

The contract wins mark the latest stage in the evolution of Narrative, which is aiming to add up to eight senior staff to its 16-strong team in the next 18 months. Since taking ownership of the business in 2014, MD Kieron Goldsborough has transformed the company with the addition of several new services including strategic marketing and a raft of new digital services. This progression has repositioned Narrative as a unique offer in the communications marketplace and one of the North East’s only true full-service, fully integrated agencies.

Mr Goldsborough said: “The contract wins reflect a growing confidence within the business community and a need for a wider range of marketing support to help companies to achieve their commercial goals.

“Increasingly clients are tapping into our expansive suite of digital communications services. They are asking us to devise ways of improving their social media engagement, increasing traffic to their website and reaching digital audiences through targeted advertising and PR.

“The digital revolution has powered the growth of many businesses but traditional media is still an important part of the communications mix. From our point of view, we are currently tendering for further contracts and we expect 2016 to be another record year of expansion at Narrative.”
