Made in the North East Awards 2016

Entries are now being sought for the Made in the North East Awards, the region’s premier awards for the manufacturing sector.

The Awards recognise and reward the talent and skills that North East manufacturers have in abundance. They have been established to celebrate the success of manufacturing companies in the North East and to reward the innovation and technological expertise that the region is home to.

Now in their fifth year, the Awards are firmly established as one of the leading events for the North East manufacturing sector.

Coverage of last year’s Made in the North East Awards dinner, at which the winners were presented, can be viewed here.

The Awards are free to enter and the easy-to-complete forms can be accessed here

SME Manufacturing Company of the Year (turnover below £25m turnover)

There is no limit to the number of categories that a company can enter (apart from the SME and Large Company Awards).

An independent panel of manufacturing experts will scrutinise all the entrants and select the shortlisted companies. The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner being held at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham on Thursday 6th October 2016.

What winners say:

“In terms of visibility, although Nissan’s biggest supplier and a major manufacturer in the North East, we were the ‘great unknown’. This award, as well as other activities, have hopefully expanded our visibility.”
John Barnett, operations director and VP manufacturing/SCM, Clasonic Kansei (Winner, Large Manufacturing Company of the Year 2015)

“We feel that the Made In the North East award gave us the opportunity to display and talk about our achievements alongside equally successful companies throughout the North East region, where manufacturers at our level are sometimes overshadowed by international companies operating in the area. The Made In the North East Awards give both large and small companies an equal share of the limelight based on their successes.”
James Stoddart, managiong director, On A Roll Sandwich Co. (Winner, Food & Drink Award 2015)
