Sunderland based radio station Sun FM has given away over £7000 worth of prizes in just one lucky day across both its Hey Big Spender and Secret Sound promotions!
It certainly has been a lucky day across Wearside after the Bank Holiday for two listeners.
First of all one lucky person from Peterlee is £5,000 richer this week when Jacquie Granville from near the town centre won the huge Hey Big Spender £5,000 shopping spree! Over the last 2 weeks thirty people played a competition with breakfast co-hosts Simon & Danni, and through the day, to guess the various prices of items from ten clients- including Elm Tree Farm Garden Centre & Tea Room. Then each day the person who guessed the closest became one of ten finalists. These ten people were then invited into Sun FM (based in Sunderland) on breakfast on Tuesday morning, to play another round for real. They had to separately guess the nearest combined price of a number of items. The three closest finalists then went into the studios and live on air were told who was the winner of the spree-which had to be spent all in one day on Tuesday at the ten locations. Jackie has been driven around by the Sun FM team with a Lookers van in tow to fill up with all her goodies.
Jackie said ‘’ I cannot believe it. I am looking forward to enjoying it all-but did not have a clue what to buy. I listen to Sun FM all the time-when I do the housework the music helps me get it done quicker. I am looking forward to all the great things I can buy and am so lucky.’’
Then the same very day, Beth Mould from Redhouse correctly guessed exactly the right answer on the Secret Sound which has been running since January 4th 2016 and won £2220 cash! There have been hundreds of guesses-the most popular being the turnstile at the Stadium of Light, and recently listeners have been on the correct scent. However it must as always be exactly right and Beth was indeed correct. Beth was absolutely staggered and could not believe she had got it correct!
