Explain Communities is a private online space that has been developed by the business to provide clients with a bespoke digital platform.  It allows real-time monitoring of opinions and perceptions of brands in the form of focus groups, polls and interactive conversations, providing valuable insights that companies can use to influence their business strategy.

For the past three decades Explain has provided full-service market research solutions to a range of companies including those in healthcare, social housing, utilities and financial services sectors, however it had identified that in order to stay ahead of the game it needed to develop a digital service and to ensure this was continually updated.

Kim Davis, Managing Director of Explain Market Research, said: “We have delivered high quality and reliable insight to our customers for over 20 years and we know how important it is to develop new products and service that respond to customer demands, particularly in a digital landscape. Explain Communities is an exciting online platform which gives us a unique digital proposition to benefit our customers.”

She added: “We were able to access grant funding from the Innovation Programme towards developing a number of enhanced features to enable us to stay ahead of the game. The process was made really straightforward by the experienced Innovation Programme team. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for support in developing a new product, service or process.”

Elizabeth Shaw innovation manager, said: “Explain Market Research is a forward thinking business that realised the importance of adapting its offer in a digital world. I’m delighted that we have been able to offer funding support to such a dynamic business and to support them in maintaining a leading edge in the marketplace.”
