Published on behalf of: North East Business & Innovation Centre

Closing Date: 30 Sep 2021

North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) Ltd is looking to work with local social entrepreneurs and leaders of charities and co-operatives as experts by experience to support social entrepreneurs on their start up and growth journey.

We are confident of being successful in an award of ERDF funding through the Sunderland CLLD programme to provide support to pre-start and existing social enterprises and VCSE organisations from September 2021 – March 2023. The funding is targeted at specific postcodes within the Sunderland area although we are hopeful to deliver a service across the whole of the city.

As a direct result of the CLLD project the BIC will deliver it’s Innovate 4 Good programme to a minimum of 2 cohorts of 12 pre and established social enterprises as well and working with a further 30+ organisations in the VCSE sector.

Should a recent UKCRF proposal via Sunderland City Council be accepted by national government these figures could significantly increase.
Given the above in order to be ready to deliver we wish to establish a pool of mentors who will work closely with the Innovate 4 Good team to provide mentoring to the beneficiaries of each cohort during the period.
You will be asked to mentor at least one social entrepreneur for 8 hours over a period of 6 months. A budget of up to £400 inclusive of VAT is available per mentee.
