Sharam Yalda is our third entrepreneur who is currently in Spain increasing his knowledge in the organic trout farming industry.
I would like to share Sharam’s update so far and also let you know that there are only two places left available for the opportunity on the cross border exchange programme.
Please give me a call if you need any more information on Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs 0191 516 6170.
“Wow it’s been a busy first two weeks since I left the comforts of my home and entered Spain to work.
The work so far has been very fulfilling; after all there is pleasure in producing good quality healthy organic food and trying to also care for the environment. It’s great to see how it’s all put together and learn from the experience of real experts in the field.
I think the nature of the work also helps attract pleasant people who are easy to get along with, and collaborative rather than competitive.
The team I work with are very nice and there is a good spirit to achieve many things, through hard work but with scarce resources. It is certainly a nice change to see this level of creativity compared to when I was working in a multinational company where there were plenty of resources but much lethargy and wastage.
I have been getting some firsthand experience of the work in the fish tanks and learning the basics and also I have been helping with projects that are being run here; such as presenting business plans for attracting investment, which is not easy in these times of financial uncertainty and crisis. There is however optimism that the business can grow and although the business model is viable, it also depends on others to help and believe in the project.
I hope spring in the air back in the UK which helps lift the spirit after a hard winter!”
