Our Growth Lab in July brought together aspiring and established businesswomen (and men) from across the region for an inspiring morning focused on unlocking women’s entrepreneurial potential.
It was a morning that lived up to every expectation. Honest conversations, genuine stories and a room full of women who left with something real to take away.
From the moment keynote speaker, Laura Brunton, took to the stage, to the final conversations over coffee, the buzz never let up.
Here are some of the key themes that emerged on the day:
- You don’t have to feel ready to start – every woman in that room who has built something did it before they felt ready. The leap comes first. The confidence follows.
- The juggle is real, and we need to talk about it more honestly – the tension between family and building a business came up again and again. And it was so refreshing to hear it said out loud.
- Your circumstances are your superpower – it’s not about waiting for the perfect conditions. The women who make it happen use what they’ve got, right now, exactly as they are.
- Community isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s essential. Events like this one exist because women need them. Finding your people, protecting your energy and being deliberate about which voices you let into your head makes all the difference.
- You’re sitting on more than you think – skills, experience and relationships. The potential in that room was extraordinary. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us it’s already there.
