A fast-growing communications agency has made a triple appointment after a string of new contract wins.

Based at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) Press Ahead has hired Jez Davison as senior PR account manager, Aimee Muirhead as digital account manager and Sharon Armstrong as a senior designer.

Jez has spent the last 14 years in journalism and PR, working for local newspapers, national business magazines and PR agencies in the North of England and Brussels, Belgium. In his new role he is responsible for managing key PR accounts – including Great Annual Savings Group and Doncaster Racecourse – as well as writing copy for communications material such as client websites, blogs and brochures.

Meanwhile, due to increased demand for digital services from strategy to implementation, Press Ahead has further resourced its digital offering with the appointment of Aimee, who joins from St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle where she was responsible for managing and implementing the organisation’s digital communications strategy. A media and communications graduate, she holds a professional diploma in digital marketing and her copywriting has appeared across a wide range of digital channels, including travel blogs and higher education publications.

In her new role she is responsible for overseeing and implementing the digital marketing strategy of Press Ahead and its clients.

Sharon joins Press Ahead after spending the last ten years at international baby product maker Tommee Tippee. Specialising in illustrations and conceptual branding, she started her career at international toiletries firm Potter and Moore and was also employed by two design agencies where she worked with major brands including Disney and the Scottish Tourism Board.

The triple appointment comes after a period of sustained growth at Press Ahead, which has enjoyed a series of recent contract wins. New clients include Redcar & Cleveland College, affordable homes provider Four Housing, ethical credit provider Smarterbuys Store and Great Annual Savings Group, which helps businesses reduce their variable costs such as energy and utility bills.
