DIT partners with Mussel Club

Karen Berry, Partnerships & Campaigns Manager at the Department for International Trade North East

The Department for International Trade North East (formally UKTI) has teamed up with The Mussel Club to raise awareness of the benefits of exporting and encourage businesses in the region to trade overseas.

By selling their products or services overseas, companies can stay in business longer and enjoy growth rates not achievable by just trading in the UK alone.

DIT North East, supports businesses of all sizes and sectors in the North East to develop their international sales. Having completed a partnership agreement with the networking organisation they will be guest speakers at Show Your Mussel, the Mussel Club’s premier business show which takes place at the Stadium of Light 21st September.

Arthur Hodgson, Commercial Director at The Mussel Club said: “We’re delighted to be working with DIT North East. The Mussel Club has a thriving business community with over 10,000 North East business members and we have grown significantly within the last six months.

“We know that many of our members are looking to expand and begin that journey to exporting, so it’s fantastic that we can allow businesses we work with to tap into the valuable advice that DIT North East can provide.

“The essence of The Mussel Club is to grow and expand businesses networks, as well as our own and we know that DIT North East is in harmony with the same goals.”

Karen Berry, Partnerships & Campaigns Manager at the Department for International Trade North East added: “This is a great opportunity to engage with more North East businesses and help them grow globally. We’re thrilled to be working with The Mussel Club and are looking forward to sharing the wider opportunities associated with developing overseas to their members.”
