Captivating. High-Energy. Emotive. Newcastle’s Will Jennison is set to release his Christmas single, ‘This Year’ which will be available to stream and download across all major platforms from Friday 20th November 2020.
With the backing of Grammy Award Winning Producer, Eliot Kennedy, Will Jennison is most definitely one to watch this festive season. Eliot Kennedy, songwriter and record producer, has worked with stars such as Take That, Spice Girls, Bryan Adams, Gary Barlow, Delta Goodrem and The Wanted. With years of industry experience, Eliot Kennedy also worked as a Talent Director on ITV’s The X-Factor, where he mentored the first ever group to win, Little Mix.
Eliot Kennedy who first saw Will Jennison perform at a Newcastle gig said:
“I first came across Will and his band when he was a warm-up act at a Take That tribute show at Newcastle City Hall. When I heard Will sing one of his own original songs ‘Move’, I was blown away. Will really is the real deal, his music is rock in origin with a good dose of punk- pop and classic song writing. An amazing guitarist and singer, he is going to be a big noise.”
The new single ‘This Year’, which is produced by Sunderland based ISG Global Music alongside Peter Waite, poignantly addresses the current global situation, capturing the uncertainty the pandemic has caused. The subjects of loneliness, loss and frustration which will strike accord with so many are accompanied by the uplifting and optimistic message of hope for the future.
Will Jennison, said:
“‘This Year’ is written from an unnamed character’s perspective, of which I hoped everyone listening could pull bits and pieces from that relate to them, I know I can. It starts at the end of 2019, with our character considering how 2020 will go with his friends and family, and making a personal goal to ensure he makes 2020 ‘his year’, obviously unaware of what was to come.
Covering subjects such as loneliness, loss, and the frustration of not being able to see loved ones, it also conversely touches on that permeating element of hope that eventually, we will be past everything which has caused such uncertainty and distress in 2020. Our final chorus considers that we will have another chance of fulfilling our personal goals and aims in 2021, with a bit of luck.”
‘This Year’ follows on from Will’s previous single release ‘Our Summer’ which was his most successful release to date with over 23k streams.

Will Jennison’s hotly anticipated first EP, Still Young, the first of three planned EP’s was released in February 2020, produced by ISG Global Music alongside Peter Waite and Eliot Kennedy. The EP featured 4 new singles, ‘Still Young’, ‘Are We Dreaming’, ‘Something About You’ and ‘Spotlight’.
Hailing from Newcastle Will Jennison is supported by his own band, writing and performing upbeat music with infectiously catchy lyrics. Single releases include ‘Move’, ‘Give it Up’, ‘Can You See It’ and ‘The Sky is The Limit’ which he co-wrote with songwriter to the stars Eliot Kennedy and Peter Waite. The song ‘The Sky is The Limit’ was synced to an Australian TV show “X-Venture” which propelled Will to a whole new level.
