North East Agency champions Northern film boom with Liverpool Film Office partnership

Sunderland-based creative agency Kenfolk are stamping their mark on the film and TV industry across the North after unveiling Liverpool Film Office’s impact report.

Kenfolk supported the design and production of the 2019-2025 impact report, revealing record growth within the Liverpool City Region’s booming film and TV industry – highlighting the lasting impact of Liverpool Film Office’s work within the region.

Lynn Saunders, Head of the Liverpool Film Office, said: “This report is a pivotal moment for Liverpool Film Office and the development of the screen sector in our region and the Kenfolk team have played a vital role in bringing one of the most important chapters in our 35-year history to life.

“They’ve taken a complex, five‑year journey of growth, creativity and regional impact, and transformed it into something visually compelling, clear and genuinely engaging to read. Kenfolk’s work doesn’t just present the facts of the period, it captures the energy of our industry and the pride we take in the positive impact our office’s work continues to have on Liverpool City Region. We’re incredibly grateful for the care, creativity and understanding Kenfolk brought in crafting every detail of this report.”

This high-profile collaboration marks a significant milestone for the agency, which has rapidly expanded since its inception in 2020.

Kenfolk has plans for further growth after recently branching out into a full service agency with the addition of PR, comms, social media management, photography and videography, bolstering their client offering.

Ross Palmer, Creative Director at Kenfolk, said: “At Kenfolk we do great work for great people, and we’re proud to add Liverpool Film Office to our growing client list alongside Northern peers North East Screen, Screen Yorkshire and Screen Alliance North – allowing us to showcase exactly how effective design can tell stories of regional success on a large scale, in addition to working with screen production agencies like Ether/Awe and Smashing Glass TV.

“Our work with Liverpool Film Office plays a small part in the impact on the screen industry and it has been a huge pleasure to work with the team to bring their ideas to life.”

Sunderland is a city on the rise and the production landscape is evolving across the city, with work beginning on the Crown Work Studios across the river from Kenfolk. It’s vital that the creative output matches the scale of ambition across the North and the agency is pleased to be playing a part in championing the North.
