Pantos, parties and pretty woman at SOL this Christmas

Ladies, football fans and children are being invited to celebrate Christmas in style at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

The SoL has a packed programme of Christmas functions aimed at all the family, with everything from party nights to a festive pantomime.

But tickets are being snapped-up fast, so anyone still looking to make a booking is advised to get in quick to avoid disappointment.

A spellbinding tale of sorcery, magic and jiggery pokery will welcome in the festive fun on Sunday December 18 when the stadium plays host to the Magical Witches and Wizards Pantomime.

Kids and adults alike can enjoy a show packed with singing, dancing, magic tricks and a chance to enjoy some disco fun with Sunderland AFC’s mascots Samson and Delilah.

Football fans can enjoy an evening with the stars on Thursday, December 8 at the official fans Christmas party.

First team players will be dropping in while some of the club’s most famous legends will be on hand to welcome guest with a drinks reception.

There will also be a live band, disco and a two-course Christmas buffet, but tickets are very limited and are expected to sell out soon.

And the girls are also being given a night of their own this year with a ladies night on December 22.

This will feature four-piece band Officer and a Gentlemen who will belt out some of the hottest hits from the coolest movies from the 80s including Top Gun, Cocktail, Pretty Woman, Footloose and more. The night will also include a four-course dinner.

Rachel Divers, Head of Commercial Sales at Sunderland AFC, is advising anyone who is considering booking for any of the events to do so now to avoid disappointment.

“This year we have a very busy December planned out, with something for everyone,” she said.

“Our football fans party has seen a lot of interest and we expect this to be fully booked very soon, so this really will be the last call for anyone wanting to buy a ticket.

“We only have a handful of tickets for next month’s panto left and we again expect these to go quickly. We have had an incredible response this year and we look forward to welcoming our festive revellers young and old to celebrate Christmas with us here at the Stadium of Light.”
