Slipway Mural is unveiled

The North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) has unveiled a mural on its Slipway Building in homage to the city’s shipbuilding past. Featuring a ship and a bridge the giant fresco also represents Sunderland’s innovative business sector.

Located on the Austin and Pickersgill Slipway in Sunderland, this building is one of eight phases on the BIC and was named in tribute to the site.

Today over 1,000 people are employed by the 130 businesses on the BIC, with 45 innovative businesses in the Slipway itself.
