Wearside fire safety firm gains BAFE approval

A Wearside based fire safety and training provider has been successful in gaining BAFE accreditation for their fire risk assessment provision.

ProFire Safety and Training, who launched in January 2020 and are located at the North East BIC, provide fire safety services such as fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and various workplace training courses.

They have been working towards gaining the BAFE accreditation following a demand in their services specifically from the public sector, housing associations and property management businesses.

BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) is the independent registration body for third party certificated fire safety organisations across the UK, the accreditation is recognised as the gold standard within the fire safety industry and gives customers the reassurance that their supplier is being independently and regularly assessed by a UKAS certification body.

Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017, fire safety has quite rightly been in the spotlight, therefore gaining the accreditation displays ProFire’s commitment to ongoing quality standards, best working practices and competency.

Will Fatherley, Director of ProFire, commented:

“We have been working towards gaining the BAFE accreditation for several months and are delighted to have now received this fantastic news.

“The accreditation will enable us to continue with our growth plans and move further into the public sector and housing association markets. This will give reassurance to our current and future customers that our work is being independently assessed, we are showing our commitment to quality and our fire safety professionals are skilled and meet all current legal requirements.

“BAFE is a nationally recognised scheme which will enable us to tender for large national procurement opportunities and secure our place as a first-class provider of fire risk assessments not only in the north east but across the UK.”

Will added:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ProFire team for their hard work in gaining the accreditation and look forward to what the future holds.”
