After visiting the BIC in 2011 Adam soon set up his business and has gone from strength to strength with contracts now in both the domestic and commercial sectors, in addition to this he has also secured a 12 week contract on a new £15 million commercial build in the North East, which has enabled him to take on his first employee. Adam said:
“I originally heard about the BIC when I found myself at the jobcentre signing on after my contract finished with the company I was working for. I decided to look into starting my own business and I booked an appointment.”
With the help of business adviser, Debbie Simpson, North East Electricals Ltd became established and Adam has returned to the BIC seeking further advice each time his business grows. Adam continues:
“I will always come back to the BIC, Debbie has been a great help and the Enterprise Club is fantastic for networking. Schuh is my first major retail contract and it’s great to be back in the commercial market again; within the last few years I have been working mainly in the domestic sector gradually building my name up and have just taken on my first employee to help with the new contracts.
“Again I visited the BIC for help taking on someone, it was really daunting knowing I would be responsible for someone else but necessary, for there was only so much work I could do on my own.
“Running your own business is a lot of hard work but I don’t think I could ever go back for working for someone else, it is such a good feeling knowing I am in control.”
Debbie added: “Adam was and still is a pleasure to help he is focused and committed in making his business a success and on behalf of the team at the BIC I would like to congratulate him on his new contracts and wish him the very best for the future.
