Top entertainment agency hosts talent search in Sunderland

SUNDERLAND’S budding entertainers can show off their skills at a special event next month – and possibly secure a job at the end of it.

Bridges Means Business takes place at the Bridges shopping centre from 4 to 8 October as part of the City of Sunderland Business Festival, with a wide programme of activities throughout the week

And leading production company ISG is inviting the city’s best singers and dancers to take centre stage when it hosts Sunderland’s Got Talent on Friday 8 October, with paid work for Christmas up for grabs.

The entertainment experts – which are based in the North East – work with a diverse portfolio of acts, along with managing and delivering large scale event experiences.

And the team are on the lookout for a whole host of performers to take part in festive shows and events in the coming months, with the chance to be signed to the agency for further opportunities.

ISG CEO, Paul Waite, will head the judging panel, along with Gemma Waite, Principal at Inspire Stage School, Duncan McManus, Head of Production at ISG and Megan Conway, part of the production team at ISG.

Performers must be over 18 and auditions are free to attend but must be booked in advance by emailing bernice@sortedpr.com and will take place at the Bridges’ Central Square from 10am to 2pm.

Paul hopes to see a large turnout at the event.

“We are delighted to be hosting Sunderland’s Got Talent during Bridges Means Business and we’re looking forward to seeing what the city’s entertainers have to offer,” he said.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for budding performers to showcase their skills in front of a team of industry experts and, with Christmas just around the corner, we’re currently casting for a lot of festive events too.”

Other events taking part during Bridges Means Business includes advice sessions covering CV writing and building a social media presence, a workwear fashion show and a Dragon’s Den style panel event.

Karen Eve, Centre Director at the Bridges, believes the event ticks all the boxes.

“Bridges Means Business was an ambitious project but it’s shaping up to be an incredible week of opportunities for those looking for work, covering everything from what to wear to how to get your foot in the door,” she said.

“It’s fantastic to have a top agency like ISG on board and Sunderland’s Got Talent is an excellent way to close the week’s events.”
