Responsible to: Innovation and Enterprise Manager
Salary: £23,088.00 per annum FT + benefits including, pension, healthcare, cycle scheme, flexible working plus café and free on-site parking.Fixed term until March 2025.

The BIC Business Start Up Team help individuals become self-employed, offering advice, and delivering business skills workshops. We are looking to add to our frontline support, someone who has first rate interpersonal skills, a superb standard of written and spoken communication and a passion for customer service. Maintaining the first point of contact for our customers is vital to the business.
An exceptional telephone manner with strong keyboard skills to match is essential as coordinating and controlling client progression is key to the department. This is a very varied role so we are looking for someone who is flexible, hands on, confident and outgoing, with a ‘can do’ approach.
This is a full-time office-based role, but we are happy to receive applications from candidates who seek a part-time role, however working days must include Monday and Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To be the first point of contact and advisory for all new clients wishing to become self-employed via phone, web enquiries, walk ins and email
- Liaise with existing customers, diagnosing needs and promoting relevant products and services
- Arrange rota’s for workshop delivery
- Ensure information given is current and to signpost clients accordingly, maintaining regular contact with internal and external organisations for project promotion
- To produce and collate evidence for funding claims and work with clients to obtain evidence for outputs accordingly for differing contracted projects
- To input and maintain Client Tracking systems
- To control the recruitment and coordination of start-up workshops to ensure the venue is in accordance with Trainer requirements
- Coordinate with Marketing to ensure website is up to date with the start-up offering
- Work alongside Business Advisers in that all information necessary for coaching is relevant, up to date and plentiful at all times
- To provide administrative support to Business Advisers
- To support the Innovation and Enterprise Manager with management information
Key Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- An empathy of clients wishing to go self employed
- Knowledge of the start-up environment and enterprise network would be preferred
- Excellent organisational skills
- IT literate to adapt to bespoke software
- Very Customer orientated
- Business Administration experience
