Heritage and Culture Development Co-ordinator

Salary up to £30,000

Full-time, fixed-term to June 2024 (but may be extended if future funding is secured)

The Washington Heritage Partnership wish to appoint a Heritage and Culture Development Co-ordinator to facilitate Washington based heritage organisations to deliver a diverse cultural heritage offer, engage and support volunteers and develop a place-based map to market the wealth of heritage assets and activities in the Washington geographical area to partners and potential visitors.

The partners include North East Business and Innovation Centre, Washington Old Hall and National Trust, Sunderland Culture, North-East Land, Sea and Air Museum, Bowes Railway Company, Social Enterprise Acumen, Sunderland City Council Heritage Team and Community Opportunities, the later who will be the employer.

The successful candidate will promote the development of heritage enterprises, placements and employment in the heritage sector by linking with colleges and universities, other cultural partners, placement schemes and encouraging volunteering. They will be responsible for direct delivery of the project/programme targets, alongside co-ordinating activities with wider partners, and will hold a proven ability to attract local residents and regional/national visitors to participate in activities delivered from heritage assets.

Your experience of working with a diverse range of partners will be key in this role as will experience of compiling and securing finance through small to medium size grant funding applications.
