Based: Across 3 sites in Sunderland and with occasional travel to head office of NE BIC.
Background
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in Property & Facilities Management as well as project and contract management experience . Supervising a busy team this is a critical and varied role which oversees sites offering serviced business premises, conference facilities and business support to the companies based at these sites.
The North East Business and Innovation Centre is an established, not for profit enterprise agency and offers a range of business support and property services throughout the North East region. Working with a broad range of clients from aspiring entrepreneurs to public sector bodies, the BIC is dedicated to supporting an entrepreneurial culture in the region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the centres and to support the wider team.
Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of success in property and facilities management, working alongside marketing and business development teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the 3 sites and ensure their effective and efficient day to day operation. A hands-on role, the Project Manager will manage the building infrastructure to the highest of standards, within set financial targets and health & safety requirements and statutory regulations.
Attracting new tenant businesses will be pivotal to the achievement of occupancy and financial targets in this role alongside managing existing client satisfaction and retention.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for identifying new target businesses, in addition to developing an existing contact database in order to maintain and develop relationships with business intermediaries.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver the objectives and outputs as detailed in the North East BIC BCMP for each site with special emphasis on occupancy levels and financial targets. Ensure invoice processing and service charge billing for all services runs smoothly, assisting with reviews undertaken with the Regional Property Manager and Finance Director. Ensure data is inputted accurately and in a timely manner for the CRM system for all sites.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual stats on all agreed key performance indicators and targets as required including reporting to the landlord and for the Board. Attend stakeholder meetings as required.
- Proactively assist in the marketing of NE BIC and its services in conjunction with the corporate marketing team, identifying new opportunities and generating sales.
- Work closely and effectively with all BIC departments to utilise, develop and agree back-office support functions with relevant support services such as, finance and quality.
- To be the key point of contact for NE BIC establishing and nurturing positive relationships with tenants, clients, key local/regional bodies in order to enhance NE BIC offerings.
- Ensure NE BIC achieves high customer satisfaction levels, maintaining the exemplary reputation. Achieve and maintain quality standards in line with our ISO9001 accreditation.
- Manage the buildings to the highest possible standards. Ensuring health and safety and legislative requirements are complied with and maintenance plans are developed and delivered within agreed financial levels.
- Instigate and project manage major refurbishments and capital plans including management of subcontractors.
- Develop new cost-effective products and services.
- Recruit, manage and provide cover for staff based at the sites and ensure that they have the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to deliver first class support to our client base.
- Ensure all activity is carried out in conjunction with agreed processes and policies.
- Build solid long-term relationships with both clients and partners.

- A minimum of 5 years property and facilities management experience.
- Excellent track record of delivering outputs on time and within budget.
- Experience of contract / project management
