12 days of start up: Day twelve, what now?

By Shirley Hermiston

This series of blog will help us countdown to Christmas providing some useful information to those of you who are considering self-employment and hopefully get you on the right path to setting up your own business.

Over the last 12 days we have looked at many steps to help you start your own business. The biggest step is to say it out loud. If you would love to run your own business then why not make 2017 the year you do something about it.

The BIC are here to help you get your new venture off the ground.

We are a team of experienced business advisers and we provide practical hands on advice and support to ensure your business gets off the right start. Our business success rate outstrips the national average with over 75 per cent of businesses advised continuing to trade into their third year and beyond.

We see a huge variety of businesses day in and day out from a wide range of sectors. Just this year we supported a fitness instructor, a music tutor, a table top war game manufacturer, a baby yoga teacher, a tree surgeon and many more.

The Start Up team can help with funding and grant advice, business planning, tax and paperwork, market research and so on.

As well as one-to-one appointments we also offer a series of interactive workshops to help you on your start-up journey.

But it isn’t just the initial starting up, once your business is underway the BIC can be there every step offer ongoing support along your way.

So that’s my 12 days of start-up over for another year. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
