Crafting your own path: Self-employment information event

Organiser: North East BIC

Do you have a hidden talent or underused skills that could be used to generate a small business income?

Have you ever been told ‘You could sell those, or you’re talented and should set up a business‘?

Whether it be a full-time venture, side hustle or part-time lifestyle business of turning your hobby into an income, we will explore what is holding you back, and potentially help you to turn your dream into reality.

This self-employment exploration event gives an overview of being self-employed, the considerations you need to make to be your own boss, understanding key areas of market research to then fully running a business.

Delivered by a Business Adviser from the North East BIC, the event will outline the practical aspects of business ownership, such as the skills required, business structuring, pricing, and marketing, and how to build a reliable support network.

What you’ll learn…

  • An overview of self-employment to allow you to consider if being self-employed is right for you
  • How to thoroughly research your idea and the need for a business
  • How to bring your idea to life and hear from real local businesses that did just that!
